At the small and almost deserted village Chordaki, district of Amari, we meet the small but very beautiful canyon of Kynigospilios south of the village. It is a secret place, not visible from anywhere and this is the main reason that remains it unknown. The canyon Kynigospilios has enough water flow during the winter months till the end of spring, which comes from the slopes of Mount Kedros.
Crossing is only possible with ropes and canyoning equipment since its course meets 8 beautiful waterfalls with the latter being the most impressive. The canyon was secured by canyoners roughly in 2011 with relays that have been placed unfortunately in the wrong places, as during the period that the canyon has a lot of water they cannot be accessed. The first group that crossed it gave the name Koutsouna (small) because they could not find another place name.
At the entrance of the gorge there are two consecutive watermills and the whole area is very green with platans and oaks that give rich shade. Under most waterfalls ponds areformed which ideal for swimming in the crystal clear waters of the river. At its end, the canyon Kynigospilios falls into the bed of Platys River.
