Cretan products and the Cretan way of cooking have claimed their own distinguished place in international gastronomy, due to the use of high quality ingredients with the added benefit of bolstering human health. In the same context, the Region of Crete has undertaken significant initiative to showcase and liaise the primary sector with tourism.
Pezoulia is the estate of grandfather Petros, who lived there all his life since 1919 and he was mainly engaged in livestock farming and agricultural work in order to be able to preserve his 8-member family. Since 2008, the estate was converted into a guest house named Pezoulia, with stone-built villas, modernly equipped and architecturally adapted to the natural environment of the area.
Thalori is a traditional hostel of alternative tourism. It is situated at Kapetaniana, at the mountain of Asterousia with a view to the Libyan Sea. The hostel consists of 20 individual renovated houses which retain the traditional architecture of the village. It has a restaurant where our customers are able to taste the Cretan traditional cuisine.
The central point of the vineyard is the house where the caretaker lives day and night throughout the year. Slowly, the land’s little house (Metohi) becomes a meeting point for the whole area.
