Lagoufa is located right after the east end of Analipsi main beach, around 59km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 24km east of Ierapetra. It consists of two adjacent coves, with fine sand and very shallow blue waters, ideal for families with small children. The beaches are located in front of the large hotels of Makrigialos, east of Analipsi. They are well organized by the hotels with umbrellas, showers, water sports, lifeguards and beach bars.

In addition to access through the hotels, you can also reach the beaches by walking along the coastline to the central beach of Makrigialos, east of the mouth of the Anegyrou stream. At the eastern end of Makrigialos there are rocks, which you must pass to find yourself on the first beach of Lagoufa. At this point you have to walk for a few meters in the water, but this is not a particular problem since the water reaches up to your knees.

Between the two beaches of Lagoufa there is a wooden path that connects them. Below the path, some small beaches form between the rocks with their beautiful formations, while in some places we find fresh water coming from caves or gushing from the sand. On both beaches of Lagoufa, we find small sand dunes, where the white sea lily thrives.
