Agia Fotia Gorge

About 1 km east of Spili,  province Agios Vassilios, on the main road that leads to Agia Galini is the church of Agia Fotini (Saint Photini), which, as in many other parts of Crete, has been paraphrased to Agia Fotia. Next to the road there is a spring with a lot of water all year round, very close to the old watermill of Kondilis. This is the ending point of the small, but beautiful and green gorge of Agia Fotia. The gorge starts from the plateau Gious Kambos at an altitude of 750m and ends at the spring after about 1.5km at an altitude of 500m.

Near the starting point of the gorge, waterfalls of unique beauty are formed, which in spring have a large quantity of water. The lush landscape with the plane trees makes the atmosphere unique. The easiest access to the waterfalls is by walking from the spring along the gorge. Respectively, it can be accessed from Gious Kambos with more difficulty, where you will have to bypass the waterfalls from the sides and go down the steep slope to the riverbed.
