Church of Transfiguration at Kissos
The double aisled church of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior and Saint Catherine is located in the settlement of Kissos, province Agios Vasilios. It is the central temple of this beautiful village.
The second aisle was added to the originally single-room church of Christ, today's south aisle of the Transfiguration. The old aisle carries 14th-century frescoes painted by a folklore artist. A depiction of the founder Dimitrios Vergilis survives on the west end of the south wall. The condition of the murals is generally poor.
