(1 Vote)

The church of Panagia Kimisi is located in the old cemetery below the village Drymiskos in the province of Agios Vassiliou. It can be accessed via a dirt road that starts from the road that connects Drymiskos with Preveli.

It is dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin (Kimisi) which is celebrated by the Greek Church on August 15. It is known as "Panagia Kimisis" because it stands out from the also old church of Panagia Gennisi in the cemetery of the village.

The temple is vaulted, with tiles, single-room and relatively large. Externally, it has a beautiful lintel with toothed details. At its base, there is a flower in relief, between two decorative melons. Melons were relatively common decorative shapes during the Venetian period.

Internally, the temple has fresco decoration that has been whitewashed. The representation of the Dormition has been revealed in a small arch on the north wall.
