The beach has pebbles and a relatively rocky bottom, factors that, combined with the often stormy sea, make swimming difficult.
The small beach of Varkotopi is formed east of Mochlos, within the perimeter of the community of Tourloti, Sitia and near the road that goes up to the Tower of the Horns.
Pelekiti is a small rocky beach in a secluded spot on the coast, known for the carved rocks that gave it its name.
