We continue to the east and ascend on the mount of Vrissinas, the top of which hosted a Minoan sanctuary and today there is the chapel of Agio Pnevma. We cross the mountain and descend with southeast direction till the village Sellia. From Sellia we head northeast towards Prasses village, see Simas bridge at Kaminolakios gorge on our right hand and end at Agia Fotini. We can also visit Prasses village and Prassano gorge. This is the first subpart of the route, that can be walked independently.
For the second subpart of the route, from Prasses we head south and come in close proximity to Potami dam. We can visit the dam lake, one of the most beautiful places in Crete. From the dam, we ascend to Gargani mountain and then cross Harkia and Kavoussi, before finishing at Arkadi monastery, where one of the most tragic pages of Greek history took place in 1866.
