Almyrida is a small seaside settlement in the vicinity of the village of Sises in the Mylopotamos district, 38 km east of the city of Rethymno. The settlement is not particularly developed, so you will mainly see locals.
Finikidia beach is located in the territory of the village of Saktouria of Agios Vasilios, between Agia Galini and Agios Pavlos. It is formed near a stream, on the banks of which there is a fairly large cluster of Cretan palm trees (Phoenix theophrastii).
The Dionysades Islands are a great geotope with dozens of caves that can be entered even by boat. One of their largest sea caves is located on the southern side of the southernmost island, Gianysada.
The beaches formed here are surrounded by high cliffs with caves and soft rocks, which protect bathers from prying eyes. The seabed in some places is quite rocky, while the sea is rarely rough.
Between the settlements of Tsigounas and Plateies Peramatos we meet one of the most hidden and lesser-known beaches, the secluded beach of Alatsocharakas.
The secluded area of Chironisia lies on the wild eastern side of the Rodopou Peninsula, just before the enchanting bay of Menies.
Stavromenos Beach lies just about 1 kilometer east of Sfakaki Beach and forms a natural continuation of the long coastline of Rethymno Bay.
