Finikidia beach is located in the territory of the village of Saktouria of Agios Vasilios, between Agia Galini and Agios Pavlos. It is formed near a stream, on the banks of which there is a fairly large cluster of Cretan palm trees (Phoenix theophrastii). This cluster also gives the name Finikidia to the area.
In the area there are scattered mainly luxurious residences villas to rent.
A road descends to the beach which has coarse sand and pebbles, but also quite a rocky bottom. In the same bay, to the west, the most distant beach of Varkotopos is formed, which is not affected by waves.
