The Holy Monastery of St. Anthony (Agios Antonios) is located at Katevati, 6 km from the village of Akoumia (also known as Koumia), southeast of Rethymno, at an altitude of 525m on Mount Siderotas, offering beautiful views over the Akoumianos River. To reach the monastery, visitors follow a concrete road for about 5 minutes by car from the road connecting Akoumia with Triopetra.

The monastery was built after the liberation and was later reconstructed by Father Theodosius Damvakerakis, who lived as a hermit in the area for about 50 years. Until 1974, there was only a small chapel built next to a natural spring. Through the efforts of Father Theodosius, the present monastic complex was gradually formed, including churches, monk cells, a courtyard and ancillary buildings.

The monastery was built on his own property at Katevati and includes the churches of Saint Anthony, Saint Nektarios and Panagia (Virgin Mary). In the church of Saint Nektarios, which was the last to be built, there is a large icon depicting all the Saints. In the church of Panagia, which is built into the rock, there is the large icon known as the "Unwithering Rose". The monastery celebrates on January 17.
