Richtra waterfall lies at the southern edge of Kato Kastelliana in the province of Monofatsi, at the foot of the Asterousia Mountains. It forms very close to the village houses and is approximately 8–9 metres high.

Its rocky face has a distinctive, almost triangular shape, narrowing at the top and widening towards the base. The name Richtra is a local dialect word for waterfall. The stream feeding it descends through a small valley in the Asterousia Mountains, rather than through a narrow gorge.

Near the waterfall, in a small village square, stands a stone fountain built in 1912. The Church of Panagia was built in the same year. According to the local account, both structures were built by the same craftsman using stone from the same quarry. Higher on the slope stands the small stone-built chapel of Saint Spyridon.

A dirt road leads to the waterfall from the nearby houses. Its proximity to the settlement makes it possible to combine a visit to Richtra with a walk around the village and its stone-built landmarks.
