Thodoris beaches, also knows as Limanakia, is located 71 km southeast of Agios Nikolaos and 36 km east of Ierapetra, just before we reach Botzalaki beach near Goudouras. It is a series of three different wonderful pebble beaches with crystal clear waters.
The first beach from the west is the somewhat better known of the three because it is visible from the road but also because the short dirt road it has reaches the wave and is easily accessible. However, if someone decides to walk along the rocky coast, they will find the second beach in the area just a few meters further on, and the third a little further down.
The second beach at Thodori Limanakia has fine pebbles with sand and is equally isolated. Behind the beach rises the typical wall formed by the conglomerate rocks that dominate every beach in the area.
Looking higher behind the beach, one sees the impressive and cave-filled slopes that characterize this unique geological area, one of the most special in all of Crete.
The wall that is created behind the beach leaves an easy passage for someone to descend to the sea surface while creating small caves that offer ideal shade in this treeless area.
