Platia Peramata is a small village located 69km south of Heraklion, 7km east of Kali Limenes and 7km east of Lendas. It is located at the exit of a small low valley crossing the wild Asterousia Mountains, which starts from the village Antiskari and ends in settlement. The fertile valley is used for growing early vegetables i greenhouses such as tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc., since the temperature here is always high.
In the area, there are several adjacent bays, where beautiful and tranquil beaches are formed. On these beaches you will mostly see locals. In front of the small settlement, there is the small beach of Platia Peramata with fine pebbles, which is mainly used for tying the boats of the residents. The beach is not very well organized, but there are a few tavernas and rooms nearby. Moreover, along the beach there are several tamarisk trees, which are usually used for camping. There is another pebbly beach on the east side of the settlement, East Platia Peramata, not prefered by swimmers.
