Zoniana Gorge
(4 votes)

The canyon of Zoniana is located south of the village Zoniana at Psiloritis Range. Starting at an altitude of 950m, it collects water from several streams of Zoniana mountains and ends at the village at an altitude of 650m. Through the gorge runs the "serpentine" river Oaxis that has water till spring and ends in river Geropotamos.

The gorge is easily accessible and safe for hiking, as its slope is not intense. The rocks in many places are impressive, as they consist of many layers, while there are impressive geological formations and trees hanging at the vertical slopes and narrow points. In the last part, near the village, the canyon widens and transforms to a narrow valley.
