At the eastern end of the sandy beach of Plakias, at the base of the Karavos peninsula, the impressive limestone rock of Paligremnos is formed. Paligremnos is a geological fault with a great height and extremely smooth surface that exceeds 80 meters.
On the western side of the largest island of the Dionysades, Dragonada, and just before we meet the impressive cape of Gaidouropoda, 6 imposing stone columns, which the locals call columns, rise up to 40 meters high from the water.
Just opposite the point where the road to the monastery of Panagia Faneromeni starts to ascend, a short dirt road leads to one of the most impressive natural pools in Crete that is formed on the hard rock.
