Plisimo is located 62km south of Heraklion and 2.5km east of the settlement of Treis Ekklisies on the southern steep slopes of Asterousia, near the point where the inaccessible gorge of Mesosfini empties. Access is via a staircase that has been placed and a path starts from the small settlement of Vouidomatos. However, one does not reach the beach, but must jump from the rocks into the sea. In the past, there was access via a path that was destroyed during the construction of the road from Mournia and today the descent is very difficult.

The beach has coarse sand and clear blue waters. It takes its name (washing) from the fact that shepherds washed their sheep here. In fact, the locals know it as Tzagarakis, from a shepherd named Dimitris Tsagkarakis who used it, as we said, for his sheep. At its western end there is a rock, in front of which the sheep were forced to pass and enter the water. This way, some bugs that were in their fur were killed.
