Parasfougario beach
Parasfougario beach is located in the area of Achlada, province Malevizi, about 22 km northwest of Heraklion. It is located on a steep point between the popular beaches of Lygaria and Agia Pelagia, while access is possible only from the sea by swimming about 20-25 'from Agia Pelagia or Lygaria.
Stairs from a nearby house end at this tiny beach. Impression is caused by the slope from above, which is full with crithmum. The seabed has pebbles and coarse sand, while a small cave to the east beautifies the landscape.
Parasfougario, in contrast to the neighboring beaches, is prone to north winds. It is good to avoid it then, as during the windy periods a lot of garbage is gathered here.
