If you climb the cliffs on the east side of Agiofarago beach and walk for a while to the southeast, you will meet a hidden saltish lake - cave, called Vourvoulitis, surrounded by vertical cliffs. It is a sinkhole communicating with the open sea by underground passages. You can approach and swim in the lake, but it’s quite dangerous as the sides are steep.
Vourvoulitis is one of the two most most impressive precipices is Crete which end up in the sea. A few meters to the east and near the village Kali Limenes there is still quite a similar precipice called Little Vourvoulitis.
