Stavrolimni beach, also known as Stravolimni, is located about 2.5 km west of Agiannis, at the northernmost tip of Gavdos. More specifically, it lies on the footpath that connects the beaches of Lavrakas and Pyrgos. Directly opposite the beach is the small islet of Lakonisi, and farther out you can see Gaidouronisi.
The stream of Kedres ends in the area of Stavrolimni. It begins at Agios Nikolaos and carries clay soil to the shore. During April and May, when the clay is still soft, this is an ideal spot to enjoy natural clay spa treatments, as later in the season the clay hardens.
The wider area is covered with juniper trees. The coastline here is mostly rocky, and the sea is often wavy.
