Among the greenhouses of Fragokastelo plain and above Orthi Ammos beach we meet the abandoned small monastery of Agios Haralambos. It is said that there settled in 1821 the monks Gregory and Magdalene, although it is believed that the monastery is much older.
The installation of the two monks was the beginning of a flourishing course, as since it was expanded, fortified by a wall, the temple was rebuilt and the monastery acquired property.
Today we see remnants of the early Christian basilica of Astratigos on the walls of the church and especially in front, and the two-storey monks' cells.
During the battle of Fragokastelo in 1828, nun Magdalene found the lifeless body and the head of the leader of the Christians. Hadjimichalis Dalianis, and buried them at the monastery.
