Kladissos is a long sandy beach located in the area of Daratsos just 3 km west of the Venetian Port of Chania, opposite the islet of Lazaretta. The beach is formed west of the Kladissos River and extends west to the beach of Chryssi Akti. On the other side of Kladissos begins the central beach of Nea Chora.
Due to the existence of the wetland at the mouth of the Kladissos and the protection regime, the beach is poorly organized. It is a good choice for those who want to be isolated while being essentially in the city of Chania. In the middle of the beach there are some rocks that separate it from the also beautiful beach of Aptera.
The beach is mainly sandy and shallow, but also has several rocky bottoms. Another beach known by the same name is Kladissos beach in the area of Achlada.
