The two-aisled church of Agios Antonios and Panagia Chilioarmenitissa is located on the beach, in the secluded location of Limnes or Charei, 3 km east of Sougia.
Access is possible by hiking for 2 hours from Sougia via the E4 path leading to Agia Roumeli or by boat. The church is built on the eastern side of a lush bay with pines, carob trees and sycamores, while springs gush everywhere.
The church dates back to the Venetian period and has interior frescoes in relatively good condition. In addition to the feast of Saint Anthony (January 17), the church also celebrates every year on July 2 (Deposition of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary), when a large feast is held on the beach. If you are in the area, follow the visitors who arrive mainly by boat and spend the night outdoors on the eve (July 1).
