The church of Panagia Kera or Chanoutia is located in the western (newer) cemetery of Gergeri and is a small single-nave vaulted church from 1443 that bears 15th-century fresco decoration. The frescoes are smoked, probably from an Ottoman raid.

At the entrance to the cemetery, a monument has been erected for the 25 residents of Gergeri and Nivritos who were killed at the same spot by the German invaders on August 14, 1944. As in all the martyred villages of the Psiloritis mount, in Gergeri, justice has not been served for the atrocities of the Germans during the war against the civilian population. Every year, on August 15, a memorial service is held for the victims.
