Η βραχυκέρατη αγελάδα της Κρητικής φυλής διασώζει σήμερα πολλά άτομα κυρίως στην περιοχή της Δρακώνας στα Λευκά Όρη και μέχρι πρόσφατα θεωρούνταν σχεδόν εξαφανισμένη.
Just west of the small settlement of Xerokambos, on the hill of Farmakokefalo, there are the ruins of the Hellenistic city of Ambelos and the picturesque church of Agios Nikolaos. Near the church, at the base of Cape Trachilos, the beaches of Ambelos begin, formed in three consecutive small bays with light turquoise waters.
