Οι χιλιάδες επισκέπτες που καταφθάνουν καθημερινά με το καραβάκι από την Ιεράπετρα στη Χρυσή απολαμβάνουν κατά κύριο λόγο το μπάνιο τους στην παραλία της Μπελεγρίνας ή Χρυσής Ακτής. Καταγάλανα νερά, λευκή άμμος με ροζ αποχρώσεις από τα χιλιάδες σπασμένα κοχυλάκια, οι άρκευθοι που συγκρατούν την άμμο με τις τεράστιες ρίζες τους είναι το σκηνικό που κάνει τον οποιοδήποτε να ξεχνάει τα όποια προβλήματά του.
Η μικροσκοπική παραλία της Μαχαιρίδας βρίσκεται 14 χλμ βορειοανατολικά των Χανίων και 1 χλμ δυτικά του χωριού Χωραφάκια, κρυμμένη μέσα σε ένα βραχώδη κόλπο. Ο κόλπος οριοθετείται βόρεια από ένα ακρωτήριο που θυμίζει μαχαίρι, εξ ου και η ονομασία της.

Είναι μια στενή οργανωμένη πλαζ με λεπτή άμμο, περιτριγυρισμένη από πολλές καφετέριες, ταβέρνες, ενώ σε πολλά σημεία υπάρχουν μεγάλα αλμυρίκια.
Arkadi Monastery is located near the village Amnatos, 23km east of Rethymno. It is built at an altitude of 500m, on a fertile plateau with olive groves, vineyards, pine, cypress and oak trees. Around the monastery there are several picturesque chapels and from there starts the beautiful Arkadi gorge.

Τhe cave of Gerani is one of the most important and most beautiful caves in the prefecture of Rethymno and in whole Crete. It is located 7 km west of Rethymnon, at the location "Kamari" and close to the beach of Gerani. The cave was accidentally discovered on March 15, 1969 during construction works for the modern highway.
