One dominant feature of the area of Ierapetra, in front of the beautiful village and the minoan settlement of Vassiliki is the Gorge Ha. It is considered one of the wildest gorges in Crete, a rare morphological phenomenon of nature, probably caused by tectonic earthquake.
Paximadia Islands are two small uninhabited islets off the Gulf of Messara, 12km (7.5 miles) south of Agia Galini. By far they seem like a single island because they are very close. You may also hear locals refer to these as "Elephant", since from afar they remind you of a lying elephant. Their total length is about 3km.
Είναι μια βραχώδης παραλία με πανέμορφα καταγάλανα βαθιά νερά. Στη παραλία υπάρχει ένα λιμανάκι με προβλήτα, από την οποία συνήθως κάνουν βουτιές στα πεντακάθαρα νερά της περιοχής. Η ακτή δεν είναι οργανωμένη και απέχει πολύ από επιλογές διαμονής. Η θαλάσσια περιοχή γύρω από τον Ομπρόσγιαλο είναι ιδανική για μάσκα.
Ideon Cave (or Ideon Antron) is located on the eastern slopes of Mount Ida (Psiloritis), in the plateau of Nida. The distance of the cave from Anogia is 24km and from Rethymno it’s 78km. The cave has not any special geological value, but has enormous mythological and cultural value, as this is the cave in which, according to the legend, the greatest Greek god, Zeus, was grown up. Today, thousands of tourists visit the cave every year, especially during the summer months.
The beach of Tersanas is shaped inside a natural harbor, which faces south. It is a sandy beach with white fine sand and shallow crystal clear water. It is quite small and looks usually crowded, especially on weekends.
Kum Kapi is located east of the picturesque port of Chania, in front of the historic district of Bedouins, who used to live here in huts made of rushes. They were African economic immigrants, who firstly arrived on the island as slaves during the Turkish occupation.
The gorge of Topolia is located at West Crete and it runs along the road leading to Elafonissi. The canyon actually starts near the village Strovles at an altitude of 450m, and exits near the village Topolia, at an altitude of 150m.
Ερχόμενοι από Ζίρο θα συναντήσετε τα πρώτα ξενοδοχεία της περιοχής και τη μεγάλη παραλία Μαζιδά Άμμος, που είναι και η μεγαλύτερη παραλία της περιοχής. Λέγεται ότι το όνομα αποτελεί παραφθορά του μάνα γη. Είναι μια υπέροχη παραλία με λευκή άμμο και καταγάλανα νερά, η οποία προστατεύεται στα ανατολικά από το ακρωτήριο Τράχηλος, στην άκρη του οποίου υπάρχει μια φωκοσπηλιά.
