At position Bale, just before entering the village of St. Basil in southern Rethymno, we meet the Byzantine church of the Life Giving Spring (Zoodohos Pigi). The church celebrates every year on the first Friday after Easter and is built on an elevated position which makes it easily visible from all sides.
Πάνω στην Εθνική Οδό που ενώνει τον Άγιο Νικόλαο με την Παχιά Άμμο, στο ύψος του Αλμυρού, συναντάμε ένα μικρό εκκλησάκι με πανοραμική θέα στη θάλασσα, τονΆγιο Γεώργιο τον Τραγοπιάστη. Παρόλο που δίνει την εντύπωση νέου ναού, χρονολογείται στην Ενετοκρατία και στο εσωτερικό του, κάτω από το στρώμα του ασβέστη, φέρει τοιχογραφίες.
Под вершиной Лиопетро находится очень старая церковь Св. Иоанна, которая также была в свое время монастырем. Добраться сюда можно по очень плохой дороге, начинающейся у главной дороги между Лассити и Ситией (вначале дорога зацементированная). Задний фон у возвышающихся камней Лиопетро очень впечатляющий.
Πολύ κοντά στο Castel di Beto στις Μελέσες συναντάμε τον Βυζαντινό ναό του Αγίου Αντωνίου. Φέρει τοιχογραφίες (ίχνη) σε κακή κατάσταση.
The double aisled Church of the Holy Apostles and St Peter and Paul is located at the foot of Tholi Hill, with the homonym fort, and belonged to the Venetian family of Cornaro. It was built in the 15-16th century and still hosts two arcosoliums (tomb monuments) inside and outside the church (bearing the inscription 1614).
Kaminos is a very fertile valley with thousands of olive trees belonging to three settlements: Skalani, Prassa and Kallithea. Kaminos was a Medieval settlement, today disappeared, that hosted three temples; the churches of Archangel Michael, the church of Christ and the church of Saint Demetrius.
Near Agios Ioannis village at Amari district, we meet the elaborate four-arched bridge of Manouras or Omeroustas that bridges the junction of River Ligiotis and the torrent Mounouha. The bridge, built in the period 1828-1840, has suffered considerable damage from time.
Η παραλία Χερομύλια βρίσκεται στην περιφέρεια του χωριού Αγία Τριάδα (γνωστό ως Τσω) της επαρχίας Σητείας, μόλις 2χλμ ανατολικά του Ατμοηλεκτρικού Σταθμού (ΑΗΣ) Αθερινόλακκου. Αποτελεί τη δυτικότερη παραλία από τις παραλίες της περιοχής του Λιβαρίου.
