Οι δύο παραλίες των Αγίων Αποστόλων βρίσκονται 3 χλμ δυτικά των Χανίων, σε μια ανεπτυγμένη τουριστικά περιοχή. Ο πρώτος κόλπος στα δυτικά, συνορεύει με την παραλία του Γλάρου. Είναι μια πανέμορφη αμμουδερή παραλία, με όλες τις ανέσεις κοντά και με εύκολη πρόσβαση.
Η Κρητική ζουρίδα (επιστ. Martes foina bunites), κουνάβι ή πετροκούναβο είναι ένα συμπαθητικό θηλαστικό, δενδρόβιο, νυχτόβιο, σαρκοφάγο και φρουτοφάγο που ζει μοναχικά (εκτός της εποχής του ζευγαρώματος) στις σχισμές των βράχων, σε κουφάλες δέντρων, σε εγκαταλελειμένες φωλιές αρπακτικών πουλιών, σε έρημες υπόγειες στοές, σε αραιά δάση, σε θαμνότοπους και σε φαράγγια.
Ammos Beach is located 500m south of the center of Agios Nikolaos. It is a long beach which starts near the city's marina, at Nearchos Street. It runs near the stadium of the town and extends to the south, to the Municipal Beach. The part near the marina is a beautiful beach with umbrellas, sunbeds, showers, water sports, restaurants, and hotels around it. It is located near the city center and its stores. The water is shallow, ideal for little kids and the sea is usually flat.
Οι 4465 Γερμανοί, οι περισσότεροι αλεξιπτωτιστές, που έχασαν τη ζωή τους κατά τη Μάχη της Κρήτης είναι θαμμένοι στο Γερμανικό στρατιωτικό νεκροταφείο Μάλεμε (Deutschen Soldatenfriedhof in Maleme). Είναι το ένα από τα δύο Γερμανικά στρατιωτικά νεκροταφεία της Ελλάδας, καθώς υπάρχει κι άλλο ένα στο Διόνυσο Αττικής.
Agiofarago Gorge (meaning Gorge of Saints) is located in south of Odigitria Monastery and has been shaped near the beds of two streams. The first stream starts north - northeast of Gyalomonochoro and the other starts northeast of the Odigitria. The two streams meet, near St Kiriaki and after following a relatively smooth path, west and south of Church St. Kiriaki, it arrives in Porofarango, where the main gorge of Agiofaraggouo starts and ends at the Libyan Sea, at a small but amazing beach.
Η λίμνη των Ποταμών σχηματίζεται από το φράγμα του Αμαρίου, το οποίο εγκαινιάστηκε το 2009. Η λίμνη βρίσκεται μέσα στην καταπράσινη κοιλάδα του Αμαρίου, 25 χλμ νοτιοανατολικά του Ρεθύμνου.
Η παραλία αυτή, η τελευταία του Ξηρόκαμπου, είναι καταφύγιο για τις σπάνιες χελώνες caretta caretta, όπως κι όλες οι αμμουδιές του Ξερόκαμπου. Επίσης, στις αμμοθίνες φυτρώνει το σπάνιο λευκό κρινάκι της άμμου, το οποίο ανθίζει κυρίως τον Σεπτέμβρη, γεμίζοντας την ατμόσφαιρα με ευωδίες.
500m west of settlement Xerokambos you will meet the first hotels in the area and the long beach of Mazida Ammos, the largest beach of Xerokambos. Mazida Ammos, falsely known as Amatos, is a beautiful un organized beach with white sand and turquoise swallow waters. It is well protected on the east by Cape Trachilos, on the edge of which there is a sealcave.
