Arvi is a large seaside village located 79km southeast of Heraklion and 35km west of Ierapetra, in a large valley formed in front of the imposing Gorge of Arvi. It is built on the location of the homonym ancient Arvi. In the valley of Arvi and the surrounding area, there are too many greenhouses. The locals deal mainly with agriculture, because the warm climate of the region helps the production of bananas, fresh vegetables and olive oil.
The cave of Agia Paraskevi is located in Gouves area, northwest of the village Skotino, with its entrance located at an altitude of 225m. In thıs cave the worshıp of Goddess Artemıs (Diana) Vritomartis took place. The pre-entry area is a sinkhole at the end of which there is the Byzantine church of Agia Paraskevi, dating back in the period of Venetian rule in Crete.
Το φαράγγι των Πεύκων είναι ένα από τα ομορφότερα μικρά φαράγγια της Κρήτης, με καταπληκτικούς σχηματισμούς των πετρωμάτων του από την επίδραση των φυσικών δυνάμεων και έντονη βλάστηση. Το μήκος του είναι 4.5 km και η υψομετρική διαφορά εισόδου- εξόδου φτάνει τα 300m. Ξεκινάει νοτιότερα από το χωριό Πεύκοι και καταλήγει στον οικισμό Άσπρος ποταμός, 2km βόρια του Μακρύγιαλου.
The cove of Agios Charalambos is located next to the hotel of Vritomartis exclusively for nudists. They are located 1.5km east of Chora Sfakion and 75km south of Chania, in an area with several adjacent pebbly beaches.
Karoumes beach is located 110km east of Agios Nikolaos and 29km southeast of Sitia. It is formed at the exit of the beautiful gorge of Chochlakies, which is worth visiting. Access to the beach can be done only by walking in the gorge, since the rugged terrain of the area has kept off the roads.
Ferma is located 10km east of Ierapetra and 45km southeast of Agios Nikolaos. It is a small seaside settlement that is built next to the steep shores, 4km south of the village of Agios Ioannis. The surrounding area is covered with dense pine woods and lush vegetation, being a green oasis inside the dry landscape of Eastern Crete.
Η Μονή Αγκαράθου βρίσκεται 23km ανατολικά του Ηρακλείου και είναι κτισμένη με φρουριακή αρχιτεκτονική σε μια κατάφυτη θέση σε υψόμετρο 538m κοντά στην Επισκοπή Πεδιάδος. Το μοναστήρι, ειδικά κατά την Ενετοκρατία, ήταν από τα πλουσιότερα στην Κρήτη με αποτέλεσμα να αποκτήσει ως μετόχια πολλές μικρές και μεγάλες μονές.
Η παραλία έχει χοντρή άμμο και μέσα στη θάλασσα υπάρχει μια μεγάλη λεία πλακούρα. Τα μεγάλα κύματα που συνήθως σηκώνονται από τους βορειοδυτικούς ανέμους, σε συνδυασμό με το βραχώδη βυθό, δυσκολεύουν το κολύμπι και την είσοδο στη θάλασσα. Μπροστά στον οικισμό η παραλία είναι οργανωμένη, με ομπρέλες, καρέκλες, ταβέρνες, δωμάτια, ναυαγοσώστη.
