Музей фольклора в Агиос Николаос работает около 10 лет. За все время своего существования он пополнил свой фонд почти что на пять тысяч экспонатов. Создавая музей, организаторы не хотели делать его историческим - таких в Греции очень много.

Damania village is a small and quiet village at the most fertile part of Monofatsi district, Heraklion Prefecture. All locals came from Minor Asia, just after the disaster in Smyrna. The village has recently been added to the villages that have a dam nearby, as a small dam was built to retain water from the tributary of Anapodaris River.

Gorge Mavrogiannis starts its course from the village Skinias (Mirabello) and ends after a serpentine route at the beautiful beach Avlaki in Vlychadia location. It is a dry canyon with awesome rock formations along it.

В Платискинос у Ахладии, Сития, была найдена большая подземная сводчатая гробница диаметром 4,08м, высотой 4.16м и коридором 9м. Гробница – особая редкость для восточного Крита – датируется 1400-1220 до н.э. и ее создатель был, возможно, вдохновлен микенскими гробницами.

At the easternmost end of Chrissi Island, on its southern coast, lies the long beach of Vages. The seabed is generally rocky, except at the eastern end of the beach, where there is a sandy section. Small boats and inflatable dinghies often anchor in this sheltered bay, as the sea is usually calm and the beach offers plenty of seclusion.

Στο δυτικότερο άκρο της μεγάλης παραλίας του Χατζηβόλακα της νήσου Χρυσής συναντάμε την τοποθεσία Αυλάκι. Η παραλία έχει βραχώδη βυθό, όπως σχεδόν στο σύνολό του το νησί. Στο τέρμα της παραλίας υπάρχει το δεύτερο λιμανάκι του νησιού στην τοποθεσία Σπήλιο και το μοναδικό σπίτι σε όλη τη Χρυσή, καθώς είναι κτισμένο από τα μέσα του 20ου αιώνα.

Perastikos has a large quantity of water although it is formed very close to the shore. Along its short, 50m-long course, it forms a very important wetland that hosts several bird species. Near its source, there is a bridge connecting both sides of the beach.
