Ο Πευκιάς είναι μια εντελώς απομονωμένη και άνυδρη περιοχή της Νότιας Κρήτης που βρίσκεται ανάμεσα στα χωριά Ροδάκινο και τον Πλακιά, 43km νότια της πόλης του Ρεθύμνου. Μέσα σε αυτό το άγριο τοπίο υπάρχουν λίγες μικρές παραλίες, καθόλου οργανωμένες και στις οποίες μπορεί κάποιος να πάει είτε με βάρκα είτε με τα πόδια.

Το φαράγγι της Κάπνης είναι ένα από τα πιο εντυπωσιακά φαράγγια των Ανατολικών Σφακίων και παραμένει παντελώς άγνωστο στον περισσότερο κόσμο. Η αρχή του ανοικτού ρέματος της Κάπνης που σιγά σιγά γίνεται φαράγγι είναι νότια της κορυφής Ακονές στην περιοχή Χιονίστρα πάνω στο δρόμο ανάμεσα στα χωριά Ασκύφου και Ασφένδου Σφακίων.

Το Καρανταλιώτικο Φαράγγι βρίσκεται στο κέντρο του Νομού Ρεθύμνου και παίρνει το όνομα του από τον εγκαταλελειμμένο σήμερα οικισμό της Καρανταλέ, ο οποίος βρίσκεται στην είσοδο του.

Крепость Кастель ди Бэто находилась к востоку от деревни Мелесес, вблизи Дель Корнаро, и имела проход только с западной стороны. На вершине холма, все еще сохранились руины стены шириной 0.65м и останки от башни, бака, церкви и нескольких других домов и зданий. Кроме того, рядом находится венецианский фонтан 1594г.

The Chemistry Museum of Chania is a representation of the first Chemical Laboratory of Greece that was founded in Chania and is housed on the 2nd floor of General Chemical Laboratory of Chania.

Behind the big hill west of the settlement Tris Ekklisies, there is a second stunning beach with fine sand, which is completely isolated and surrounded by the largest carob wood in Europe. The beach is called Pahia Ammos and is shaped at the exit of Agia Paraskevi Gorge, which also houses an unknown 105m high waterfall (only in winter).

The cave of Vreiko is located about 2km north-east of the village. It is a cave and gulch and the known depth is 25-30 metres. The Entrance is an open and flat place that looks like a threshing floor. In the entrance there are stairs that make the entry and exit to the cave easier. A fig tree has grown at that place and its bouches cover a big gallery which is about 60-70 metres long. At the entry and the end of the gallery there are signs from the Neolithic Era.

The bay of Salamia(s) is located 74km south of Heraklion, between Agios Ioannis and Tripiti. There is no road nearby, thus it is one of the most secluded areas of Crete. You can reach it either by boat or by easy walking from Agios Ioannis.
