Faflagos is located 89km southeast of Iraklion, near the village Arvi. It is a small seaside settlement at the exit of a small valley, which is crossed by the river Blavaris or Blavopotamos, which has no water in summer and starts from Kato Symi. In front of the village, stretches a very long shore with beautiful and tranquil beaches. Nearby, there are many greenhouses with crops of bananas and fresh vegetables.
The lighthouse of Panormos is located east of the homonym coastal settlement. It can be accessed after walking 30 minutes a dirt road that starts from the local cemetery, passing through the arid pastures of the region, while having unique view on the northern shores of province Mylopotamos and Panormo. During the course, we get impressed by the geological formations of the phyllite rocks.
The ports of Polirinia were Falassarna and Kissamos. It developed close trade relations with Sparta, Milos, Rhodes, Thiva, the coasts of Ionia and Egypt. Apart from trade, the town was apparently famous for livestock, as the name comes from the words “polla rinia” which means many lambs.

One of the most popular Byzantine monuments in Crete (13th- 14th A.D.) is located in Logari, one kilometre east of Kritsa. This triple-nave Byzantine church is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, to Saint Anthony and Saint Anna. It is adorned with superb wall paintings on particular themes like the representation of Saint Anna, other icons of the saints, and the fourteen scenes depicting the secret life of the Virgin Mary.
Στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του οροπεδίου υπάρχουν πολλά βάραθρα και σπήλαια, καθώς και μικρότερα πλευρικά οροπέδια. Στη μία του πλευρά συναντάμε το ξωκκλήσι του Αγίου Γεωργίου πάνω στο δρόμο ενώ στη μέσα πλευρά του οροπεδίου, στο σημείο με τη χαμηλότερη στάθμη υπάρχει η λίμνη του Στρούμπουλα.
On the west of Kali Limenes, on the hill, you will meet the chapel of St. Paul, built on site of an earlier church of 1700, in honor of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew that visited Kali Limenes on November 15, 1992.
Klimata is a big bay in which there are three adjacent beaches. On the west side of the bay, there is the small harbor of Rodakino, accessed through a cement-paved road from Korakas. From there you can easily reach the first beach, situated next to the harbor.
