South of Kroustas we meet the historic cave-pothole Tafos (Tomb) where the rebels of EAM (Greek guerrilla Army during World War II) found shelter during the German Occupation. As usual, the place was revealed by betrayal and the Germans arrested them and executed all of them at this place.

Agia Irini monastery is located 25km south of Heraklion and 3km west of Kroussonas village, on the slopes of Psiloritis at an altitude of 630m. It can be accessed via the road connecting Kroussonas with Livadi plateau.

Petres (i.e. Stones) beach is located at the east end of the vast beachfront of Episkopi, 46km east of Chania and 13km west of Rethymnon. It is named after the imposing Petres Gorge that ends here. All around there are some facilities such as rooms, restaurants, a diving school, etc. In the cove of Vythos, which lies north of the others, there are umbrellas and it is less sandy

Στα (Ε)λληνοπεράματα Ηρακλείου και σε απόσταση αναπνοής από τη θάλασσα και τις εγκαταστάσεις της Δ.Ε.Η. ορθώνεται απότομος σαν πέτρινο θηρίο ο λόφος της Καστροκεφάλας. Με σχήμα πυραμίδας και υψόμετρο 355 μέτρα από το επίπεδο της θάλασσας έχει μοναδική θέα στη θάλασσα, στον οικισμό της Ρογδιάς, στην ιερή από αρχαιοτάτων χρόνων πυραμίδα του Στρούμπουλα, αλλά και σε όλο τον γόνιμο κάμπο του Ηρακλείου.

Το μοναστήρι του Γοργολαΐνη φιλοξενεί δύο δέντρα που έχουν κηρυχτεί ως διατηρητέα μνημεία της φύσης: έναν πλάτανο κι ένα κυπαρίσσι. Και τα δύο βρίσκονται στο βάθος του κήπου του μοναστηριού, το ένα δίπλα στο άλλο για αιώνες.

Paschaligo is a small grove located 1.5 km southwest of Neapolis town, on the northern slopes of Mt Kavalaras. The existence of the forest is related to the history of the region, which was named after the Venetian feudal lord Fillipo Pasqualigo, who lived in a tower that was built here.

Το Οροπέδιο των Αρμενοχανδράδων βρίσκεται 23km νότια της πόλης της Σητείας και αποτελεί ένα από τα μέρη της Κρήτης που παραμένει εντελώς άγνωστο, αυθεντικό και μακριά από τα αστικά κέντρα. Παίρνει το όνομα του από τους οικισμούς Αρμένοι και Χανδράς, οι οποίοι πλέον αποτελούν ενιαίο οικισμό.
