The church of Saint George at Kournas is one of the most important surviving Byzantine Monuments of Crete. It is built in a prominent position with panoramic views of the sea and probably operated as a monastery, and there are some traces of monk cells.

Ο ποταμός Μπούτακας βρίσκεται στην επαρχία Αποκορώνου στα Χανιά πηγάζει από τα νερά των Λευκών Ορέων κοντά στον Βαφέ. Περνάει από το χωριό Βρύσες, όπου υπάρχουν πολλές όμορφες ταβέρνες, κι εκβάλει στην όμορφη παραλία Καλυβάκι στην Γεωργιούπολη, αφού πριν έχει αναμειχθεί με αλμυρό νερό.

Ο Μύλος του Γαζέπη βρίσκεται κοντά στο χωριό Νιπιδιτός κι έχει κηρυχθεί προστατευόμενο μνημείο από την Εφορεία Νεωτέρων Μνημείων. Εδώ ο Μαθιός Αποστολάκης από το Νιπιδιτό, που είχε το παρατσούκλι Gazep (δηλαδή «αντιδραστικός»), στα μέσα του 19ου αιώνα έκτισε έναν ανεμόμυλο. Στη συνέχεια πέρασε στα χέρια του γιου του Μιχάλη και μετά τον Β Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο κληρονομήθηκε σε κάποιον Καλούδη.

At the eastern end of Chora Sfakia harbor we meet the rock of Tsagaris (shoemaker). Tsagaris is a towering and sharp rock that stands out from the rest rocks in the area. From afar the rock looks like merging with the opposite side, however from below one notes that it hangs separate from others and is nowhere joined. Its top reminds of a head.

Αυτό το τμήμα του Ε4 μονοπατιού ανηφορίζει στο πευκόφυτο όρος της Θρυπτής και προσφέρει εκπληκτική θέα στον κόλπο του Μιραμπέλου. Το μονοπάτι είναι καλά σηματοδοτημένο με κιτρινόμαυρα σημάδια και πάσαλους.

Above Episkopi, province Ierapetra, we meet one Ottoman Tower (Koules), one of the many built in 1868 by the ottoman Avni Pasha. The defensive tower was built there to control the passage of the isthmus of Ierapetra.

One tower was built in Varsamakia, west of Kissamos and close to Sfinari, on the possible site of the unknown village Monoplatanos. The tower was then famous and is located next to the Chapel of Agios Dimitrios.

The monastery of Panagia Deligara, Ligaria or Ligariotissa operated at the site that we meet today the church of Panagia (Our Lady) near Ligaria Beach. The monastery is mentioned in a document of 1610 as Panagia Deligara.
