A short distance north of the village Vori there was the monastery of Panagia Kardiotissa, a dependence of Varsamonero monastery. Today the double-nave vaulted church with wall paintings in the south aisle survives. The north wall still hosts an arcosolium.

The spring of Gineka is a source of life for all the goats in the region and is an important point for the reproduction of frogs. Next to the spring there are ruins of an old building and some ancient terraces which served to hold the ground the area for cultivation of grain.

The artificial lake of Skinias is located 1km north of Skinias village, beside the River Baritis, from where it gets supplied with water. The lake was constructed in order to irrigate the local land.

The abandoned monastery of Agios Eleftherios at Mournies is a dependency of Chrysopigi monastery and is located near the General Hospital of Chania, among olive groves, houses and a school. Here was baptized the most important modern Greek politician, Eleftherios Venizelos.

Η κρήνη νερού των Μοθιανών είναι από τις πιο όμορφες ολόκληρης της Κρήτης και βρίσκεται στο σημείο όπου αναβλύζει μια μικρή πηγή νερού η οποία ήτανε και η βασική πηγή ύδρευσης του οικισμού. Η πολύ όμορφη πέτρινη βρύση είναι χτισμένη με ντόπια πέτρα και φέρει χαραγμένη χρονολογία στην μπροστινή της πλευρά 1882.

At the site of the old Primary School of Ethia an interesting collection of folklore objects from the donations of the villagers has been exhibited. The school, which can be visited after an appointment with the village's Cultural Association.

The Orthodox Church of Agios Mattheos (St. Matthew) of Sinai was built in 1508 on the ruins of an earlier Byzantine church. This was the main Christian temple after the conquest of Crete by the Turks, as the Turks converted the monastery of Agia Aikaterini of Sinai to a mosque.
