Το Μουσείο είναι αφιερωμένο στα χαρακτηριστικά του Φυσικού Περιβάλλοντος του Πάρκου. Μέσα από μικρές αναπαραστάσεις οικοτόπων (διοράματα), προθήκες, ταριχευμένα ζώα, πετρώματα, απολιθώματα και πόστερς, παρουσιάζονται τα ιδιαίτερα στοιχεία της χλωρίδας, πανίδας και γεωλογίας της περιοχής.
The cave of Petsis or Metaxaris is located at position Karavotopos, near Koutalis beach, in the area of the village Kokkino Horio in province Apokoronas. The cave has a very rich decor and is about 100 meters long, being one of the most important in the area (which has a large number of caves). Its interior has a lot of clay, so it's very slippery.
Ο (πολύ παλιός) ναός του Μιχαήλ Αρχαγγέλου βρίσκεται νότια των Αρχανών και φέρει τοιχογραφίες του 1315. Σε μια τοιχογραφία αναπαριστάται ο ιδρυτής της εκκλησίας να κρατάει μια μακέτα του ναού, ενώ υπάρχουν και αναπαραστάσεις κολασμένων.
Agios Ioannis (Saint John) settlement is named after the small monastery of Saint John, which is built inside a two-level cave and has very old frescoes, dating back from 1360.
From Ziros, the E4 European trail heads northeastwards and soon enters a dirt road that leads to ruined historic settlement Skalia. From Skalia we walk north and east, we pass a small plateau and then descend to Ano Zakros springs.
The Historical and Folklore Museum of Viannos was founded in 1996 at the birthplace of a famous Greek author, John Kondilakis (a part of the museum is dedicated to him).
Στην περιοχή της Κανδάνου οι Οθωμανοί έκτισαν τέσσερις πύργους με πολεμίστρες για να προστατευτούν από τους επαναστάτες των γειτονικών περιοχών. Ίχνη ενός πύργου σώζονται ακόμη και σήμερα πάνω από το χωριό Βαμβακάδες, ενώ οι πύργοι στο Ανισαράκι, στο Νυχτεριανό και στο Κουφαλωτό δε σώζονται. Ο πύργος των Βαμβακάδων ήταν κτισμένος σε υψόμετρο περίπου 1040 μ., όντας ο πύργος με το μεγαλύτερο υψόμετρο στην Κρήτη.
Agia Sophia is an old abandoned monastery located on the plateau of Armenochantrades. The monastery is surrounded by walls and in the center there still stands the church of Hagia Sophia. All around there are the ruins of the monk cells and some renovated buildings.
