Gorge Perdikaris is located between villages Miriokefala and Argoules, along the borders of the prefectures of Rethymnon and Chania. It is a rugged canyon with steep gradients, low vegetation and large opening throughout its length.
A few meters south of the entrance of cave Chainospilios, we meet the cave Hamoto Spiliari (i.e. Low-roof Cave), which has a length of 32 meters, a maximum width of 6 meters and a height of 6 meters. It is a very small cave, but it has its charm and deserves being explored!
The monastery of Panagia Armos is located in Armos position, 5km southeast of Males village, very close to the nunnery of Exakousti. The area where the monastery was built is lush green and has panoramic views to the pine forest of Selakano.
Remains of an extensive centre of the Old Palace period (1950-1700 B.C.) have been uncovered.at the site called Gournes, near the village of Apodoulou, at the west foot of Psiloritis. The site dominates the Amari valley and controls the main route to the Messara plain.
Κοντά στο χωριό του Αποδούλου βρίσκεται ο αρχαιολογικός χώρος στη θέση Τουρνές, που ήρθε στο φως μετά από ανασκαφές του Σπύρου Μαρινάτου(δεκαετία 1930). Σε μια θέση πολύ σημαντική στις δυτικές υπώρειες του Ψηλορείτη, ο οικισμός ήλεγχε το πέρασμα προς την πεδιάδα της Μεσαράς.
Δίπλα στο λιμάνι της πόλης του Αγίου Νικολάου υπάρχει η μικροσκοπική ήρεμη παραλία με βότσαλο της Ακτής Θεμιστοκλέους. Δίπλα της βρίσκεται το γλυπτό του Νίκου Κούνδουρου «Η Αρπαγή της Ευρώπης».
The plateaus of Tavri and Niatos are located 2km and 3km west of Askifou Plateau, 51km south of Chania, at an altitude of 1200m. They can be accessed via a road starting from Askifou, crossing Tavri and then ending up in Niato.
