Η ελιά αυτή έχει ανακηρυχθεί ως μνημειακή από τον Σύνδεσμο Ελαιοκομικών Δήμων Κρήτης λόγω μεγέθους, σχήματος και ανάγλυφου κορμού. Η ονομασία της τοποθεσίας που βρίσκεται είναι «Γρε Ελέ» που σημαίνει Γριά Ελιά και αναφέρεται σε αυτό το δέντρο.
Επειδή η θάλασσα στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του Παπαδιόκαμπου είναι πολύ συχνά τρικυμιώδης, υπάρχει μια εξαιρετική επιλογή για μπάνιο ανατολικά του οικισμού, από την ανατολική πλευρά της χερσονήσου του Τραχηλίου. Το ακρωτήριο κόβει τους δυτικούς ανέμους και τα νερά είναι ήρεμα και καταγάλανα.

A few meters south of the entrance of cave Chainospilios, we meet the cave Hamoto Spiliari (i.e. Low-roof Cave), which has a length of 32 meters, a maximum width of 6 meters and a height of 6 meters. It is a very small cave, but it has its charm and deserves being explored!
