Sfakaki Beach is located right after Pigianos Kampos and forms part of the long stretch of Rethymno Bay and is renowned for its golden fine sand.

The church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary or Pano Panagia is located in the northeast part of the castle and bears very ruined frescoes of 1467 painted by Georgios Pelegris. The painter is probably the same with the homonymous painter who worked in Chandakas (today's Heraklion) from 1456-1487.

The church of Saint Basil is located to the north of the village of Vavouledo, province Kissamos, which is one of the many neighborhoods of Palea Roumata. The current church is the extension in the 19th century of the initial smaller single-nave arched church of the Savior Christ, dating back to the 15th century.

This is a small stone bridge that connects the two sides of a small canyon that locals call Sambathiano Chavgoudaki (small gorge of Sambas). Next to the bridge there is the church of Agios Mamas.
