Pahia Ammos is located 20km east of Agios Nikolaos, on the road connecting Agios Nikolaos with Sitia and Ierapetra. It is a large village, built on the north side of the narrowest part of Crete, at the exit of a fertile plain with olive groves. The local beach and the sights of the surrounding area have contributed to the mild development of the village. In the village you will find small hotels, rooms and taverns.
The forest Selakano is located 35km north of Ierapetra, in the southeastern part of the Dikti massif, surrounded by the four highest peaks (Lazaros 2085 m, Spathi 2148 m, Afendis Christos 2141 m, Psari Madara 2090 m). The area can be accessed via asphalted road that runs through a magical route till the village Selakano and starts either in Ierapetra or Kalamafka.
Το σπιτόφιδο (επιστ. Elaphe situla ή Zamenis situla) είναι το ομορφότερο είδος φιδιού της Ελλάδας, με χαρακτηριστικά κοκκινοπορτοκαλί σημάδια στην πλάτη. Στη Κρήτη ονομάζεται και οχέντρι, το οποίο σημαίνει οχιά, το οποίο είναι εσφαλμένο, καθώς το φίδι είναι εντελώς ακίνδυνο. Την λανθασμένη αυτή εντύπωση έχει προκαλέσει ένα σημάδι V στο κεφάλι του, το οποίο έχουν και οι οχιές. Η ονομασία Σπιτόφιδο λέγεται πως κατάγεται από τις Κυκλάδες, όταν σε κάποιες περιοχές οι άνθρωποι το έφερναν εσκεμμένα στους αποθηκευτικούς τους χώρους για τον έλεγχο των ποντικών.
Sirikari is located 55km west of Chania and 17km south of Kissamos, in a lush green area with canyons and water streams. The road to Sirikari is paved and runs through the dense vegetation, indicating the beauty of the area at the very first moment. From here begins the beautiful canyon of Sirikari leading to the settlement of Polirinia, where the ancient town of Polirinia was built.
Odigitria Monastery is a male monastery located in a protected position of Asterousia Mountains, at an altitude of 250m. The monastery can be accessed through the village of Sivas in Messara Plain. It is one the most historic monasteries in Crete, known for its huge estate, with several chapels and vast land property in Asterousia Mountains.
Ο Κλάδος είναι από τα πλέον επικίνδυνα και απροσπέλαστα φαράγγια της Κρήτης. Η αρχή του φαραγγιού βρίσκεται στην τοποθεσία Κοκκινόβαρη, σε μια απότομη πλαγιά 90-100 μέτρων που κάνει την πρόσβαση αδύνατη, ακόμη και με τεχνικό εξοπλισμό. Maridati is beautiful unknown pebbly beach at a remote green valley in the area of Palekastro (6km from Palekastro). This is located 90km east of Agios Nikolaos, 21km east of Sitia and 5km north of the famous Kouremenos beach.
1km east of settlement Istron we meet a well hidden beach in a steep bay. The beach is called Pilos, but is widely known as Istron Bay, after the homonym hotel that is built on the steep slopes of the bay. While it seems as private, there is a path leading to the beach starting from the west of the hotel.
