The river Giofyros or Diakoniaris is located in the northern prefecture of Heraklion. It is watered by several tributaries close to the village of Profitis Ilias (Prophet Elijah) and flows next to the Pancretan Stadium, in Heraklion city.

North of Mohos, by Stalis, we still meet one interesting windmill park of Crete. There are still standing 5 windmills in a row. Mohos mills are of two types: the completely circular, turning to all winds, called Xetrocharis and the more usual that turns only in a certain wind called Axetrocharis (this has rectangular shape).

The monastery of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is located at an elevated position, east of the village Sgourokefali. The nunnery was founded in 1990 and has beautiful views to the village of Sgourokefali.

Στη Κρήτη εκτός από το υποείδος Lacerta trilineata trilineata, υπάρχει και το υποείδος Lacerta trilineata polylepidota. Η κολισαύρα είναι εντελώς ακίνδυνη, παρόλο που κάποιοι την θεωρούν δηλητηριώδη. Άλλωστε, δεν υπάρχουν καθόλου δηλητηριώδη ερπετά στην Κρήτη.

One of the many defensive towers (koule) built by the Turks at the strategic places that controlled the passages between the different regions of Crete and was the Koule of Meronas, next to the current church dedicated to Prophet Elijah. The point has panoramic views to the valleys of Amari and Potami. The Koule survives in bad condition.

Tafkos is located at Petradolakia area at an altitude of 1,440 meters, approximately 13 km south of Anogia. It belongs to potholes and its explored depth is 475 meters and the total length is 383 meters. It is considered the second deepest cave at Psiloritis and when it was firstly discovered (1989) it was the deepest cave in Greece.

Ο αρχαιολογικός χώρος του Τρυπητού βρίσκεται πάνω σε μικρή χερσόνησο, 3km ανατολικά της Σητείας, δίπλα στην παραλία της Καραβόπετρας, που έχει εκπληκτική θέα στη Σητεία. Θεωρείται ότι αποτελεί την αρχαία πόλη της Σητείας, την Ητεία, που ήταν αρχικά επίνειο της Πραισού. Η πόλη ήκμασε τα Ελληνιστικά χρόνια (350πΧ-50πΧ).

Το απροσπέλαστο και άγριο φαράγγι Μεσοσφήνι βρίσκεται 55km νότια του Ηρακλείου, σε μια απομονωμένη περιοχή δυτικά του παραλιακού οικισμού των Τριών Εκκλησιών. Η είσοδος του βρίσκεται σε ύψος 450m, κοντά στο χωριό Μουρνιά, στα Αστερούσια Όρη. Στην έξοδο, 2km νοτιότερα, σχηματίζεται η πανέμορφη παραλία του Βοιδομάτη, στην οποία καταλήγει χωματόδρομος από τις Τρεις Εκκλησιές.
