Η Μονή Παναγίας Βρυωμένης βρίσκεται 4km ανατολικά του χωριού Μεσελέροι Ιεράπετρας, σε μια δύσβατη και οχυρή βραχώδη περιοχή. Είναι αφιερωμένη στο Γενέσιο της Θεοτόκου, 8 Σεπτεμβρίου, όμως το μοναστήρι πανηγυρίζει και στις 15 Αυγούστου.

Хризостомос построен на месте древнего Ласияс, который был одним из крупнейших портов Гортинас, который был самым крупным городом Римского Крита. Two km south of the village Modi by Platanias (Chania) we meet is the cavernous chapel of St. Gerasimos. The location of this beautiful cave is accessed via dirt road that starts from Modi (there are information signs). The cave is located on a hillside that is covered by an ancient olive grove.The temple is built inside the cave, is spacious and has a courtyard along a long rock shelter.

One of the large windmill parks of Merambelo district is located at Vrouhas village and consists of nine mills. They all turned only in a certain wind and their type is called Axetrocharis (this has rectangular shape with a round side where the mill is installed). In Crete we meet another type, Xetroharis that is completely circular, turning to all winds.

Near Diavaide there is the church of St. George Sfakiotis, bearing frescoes of the 14th century (there is an inscription of 1390). One of the frescoes represents St. George and St. Demetrius on horseback crossing the sea with octopuses, crabs, eels, and lobsters below their legs.
