Η μονή της Αναλήψεως βρίσκεται στον Πόρο της Ελούντας, στο σημείο που υπήρχε η καταποντισμένη σήμερα Ολούς. Την ημέρα της Αναλήψεως στο ναό αναβιώνει ένα ιδιαίτερο έθιμο. Μετά τον αγιασμό των υδάτων, οι γυναίκες της Ελούντας μπαίνουν στη θάλασσα και μαζεύουν μάτσα από φύκια και πέτρες, τα οποία συμβολίζουν τη σταθερότητα της ζωής.

The Cathedral of Saint John is located at Episkopi, province Mylopotamos, and is a cruciform temple with a dome. It was built in the 13th century on the ruins of an early Christian basilica of the 5th century. It became the cathedral and the seat of the Diocese of Avlopotamos during the Venetian Era. Inside, on the surving dome we meet some frescoes of the 14th century following the Palaeologean style.

At the abandoned settlement of Frathias, near the monastery of Xera Xyla, there is the church of Saint John, which for once was the temple of a small monastery. The church is single-nave, arched and at the entrance there is the date 1590 indicated.

One of the least known stone bridges of Crete is the bridge of Boutakas located between the villages Vrises, Embrosneros and Vafes at province Apokoronas. It is the newest of two stone bridges of that area (there is also the famous bridge Elliniki Kamara which is more than 2000 years old). The bridge is still in use by cars and was built during the last decade of the 19th century by local craftsmen.

На дороге между Пискокефало и Ситией мы можем увидеть обнаруженный в ходе раскопок двух-этажный дом минойской постройки. И сегодня всё ещёь можно различить сохранившиеся остатки комнат, лестниц и защитных валунов из ближайшей реки Пантелопотамос или моря.

Near Potami dam, province Amari, and south of village Harkia, in a lush green position with plane trees we meet the abandoned convent of Panagia Eleousa, dedicated to Zoodochos Pigi (Life Giving Spring). We can reach this point through a sign on the main road surrounding the dam. The place hosts the small church dating back to the Venetian Era and bearing some traces of frescoes.

Within the picturesque narrow streets of the market of Epano Archanes, we meet the small square with the small temple of the Holy Cross (Timios Stavros). The church is single-aisled and vaulted, and part of the sanctuary is carved in rock, while its sanctuary is stone-built.
