Στο ψηλότερο σημείο του χωριού Χουδέτσι Πεδιάδος Ηρακλείου στη θέση Μαρολιανά συναντάμε το σπηλαιώδη ναό της Αγίας Παρασκευής.Πρόκειται για ένα πολύ μικρό ναό και με μία σχεδόν τετράγωνη αίθουσα λαξευμένη στο ασβεστολιθικό πέτρωμα της περιοχής.

The settlement of St. John the Evangelist, whose core was the former monastic complex of the monastery of St. John, is situated between the villages Kritsa and Kroustas. According to local tradition the monastery was founded in the second Byzantine period and it is known that it functioned until the late 19th century.
Just above the reservoir of the dam Potami still dominates the ruined Koules (Turkish Tower) of Potami, built in the period 1866 to 1869. It has been declared a protected monument, because it is an important sample of castle architecture and is inextricably linked to the history and memories of the area during the Ottoman occupation of Crete in the 19th century.
Ανάμεσα στα θερμοκήπια του Φραγκοκάστελου συναντάμε το εγκαταλελειμμένο σήμερα μονύδριο του Αγίου Χαραλάμπους με τη λαμπρή όμως ιστορία. Λέγεται ότι στο χώρο της μονής εγκαταστάθηκαν το 1821 οι μοναχοί Γρηγόριος και Μαγδαληνή, αν και πιστεύεται ότι η μονή ήταν πολύ παλαιότερη.
Saint Kirikos or Kirkos is located at the archaeological site of Lissos, on the site of a former Early Christian Basilica and gives its name to the entire valley of Lissos. The vaulted church has Byzantine frescoes, unfortunately damaged.
