Στη νοτιοδυτικότερη άκρη του νησιού Μικρονήσι, ακριβώς στο σημείο όπου υπάρχει μικρή αποβάθρα για να δένουν οι βάρκες, σχηματίζεται η μοναδική παραλία του νησιού. Η παραλία βρίσκεται μέσα σε αρχαίο λάξευμα και υπάρχει πρόσβαση με πέτρινη σκάλα.
The Byzantine church of Agia Paraskevi at village Siva is a small single-nave church with a dome. Remarkable are the frescoes dating from the early 14th century, and there are parts of wall paintings of older periods.
Between the villages Aroni and Argoulide at Cape Akrotiri we meet the double-aisled church of Saints Artemios and Paraskevi. This Byzantine church has been built in two phases with the right aisle belonging to Agia Paraskevi probably being the oldest. Between the two doors of the temple there is an old well for the collection of rainwater and there is a carved stone trough in bedrock. The construction of the temple dates back from the 14th century, a few years after the nearby Byzantine church of Saint George (only 25 meters away).
Κοντά στο μονοπάτι που ενώνει τον Άγιο Ιωάννη με την παραλία του Σαλαμιά και σχεδόν πάνω από τη θάλασσα σχηματίζεται το μεγάλο σπήλαιο της Περιστεράς, που παίρνει το όνομά του από τα περιστέρια που φωλιάζουν μέσα του.
There are many cavernous chapels throughout Crete, most of them dedicated to Saint Anthony. Such one totally unknown chapel is that of Saint Anthony by Roustika, Rethymno prefecture. It is built in a cave in the heart of the cypress wood covering the Roustika Gorge and is well hidden in the dense vegetation.
Between the palm forest in Vai and the beaches of ancient Itanos the small beach in Voulismata is formed. Voulismata is the most remote beach in the area and you will almost never find anyone here, as the only way of access is to walk alongside the coast and there is no road reaching the beach.
Το σπήλαιο της Πουλίνας έχει σχετικά μικρό άνοιγμα και βρίσκεται σε ένα βαθούλωμα που κάνει το έδαφος στην κορφή του λόφου με αποτέλεσμα αν κάποιος δεν πάει ακριβώς στην είσοδό του να μην μπορεί να το δει. Μπροστά από την είσοδο υπάρχει από αρχαιοτάτων χρόνων πέτρινος αυλόγυρος και περίφραξη που αφήνει μονάχα ένα όμορφο άνοιγμα με δύο πελεκημένες μεγάλες πέτρες να παίζουν το ρόλο της πόρτας.
Ο ναός των Αγίων Αποστόλων Πέτρου και Παύλου βρίσκεται στη συνοικία Αμπομπάντενα ή Αομπάδενα του Αγίου Μύρωνα και είναι μονόχωρος καμαροσκέπαστος ναός που φέρει τοιχογραφίες με έντονο νεκρικό χαρακτήρα. Είναι η μοναδική εκκλησία στην οποία οι τοιχογραφίες έχουν εκτελεστεί σε πανί (καναβάτσο), που έχει επικολληθεί στην τοιχοποιία του ναού.
