Madé (or Madés) is a small coastal village located near Ligaria, 20km northwest of Heraklion and 1.5km east of Ligaria beach. It is located near the northernmost edge of the Gulf of Heraklion, which called Cape Bourouni of Rogdia. To get this far from Heraklion, drive in the highway to Chania and take the exit of Ligaria. Just after 1.5km you will see a sign for Madé.
The legendary olive tree in Azorias is located 1km south of the village Kavoussi and very close to the homonymous archaeological site of Azorias. This olive tree is a natural monument; it is the oldest olive tree in the world! Indeed, it is grafted on a rootstock of a wild olive tree, making it the oldest sample of grafting in the world.
Τα Αφράτα είναι ένα μικρό παραθαλάσσιο χωριό, 3.5 χλμ βόρεια από το Κολυμπάρι και 28 χλμ δυτικά των Χανίων, στο ακρωτήρι του Ροδωπού. 1 χλμ ανατολικά του χωριού, βρίσκεται η όμορφη παραλία Αφράτα, καλά προστατευμένη μέσα σε έναν ήρεμο κόλπο.
Η τοποθεσία Αμμούδι βρίσκεται 66 χλμ νοτιοανατολικά του Αγίου Νικολάου και 29 χλμ ανατολικά της Ιεράπετρας, κοντά στη Μονή Καψά. Η κύρια παραλία του ονομάζεται και Σπηλιά του Δράκου λόγω μιας μικρής σπηλιάς 500μ. βορειότερα και της ομώνυμης ταβέρνας δίπλα σε αυτή.
Το Κουναβιανό φαράγγι είναι το πλουσιότερο σε βλάστηση φαράγγι όλου του νομού Ηρακλείου με απίστευτο πράσινο, μια πραγματική όαση στο κέντρο της επαρχίας Πεδιάδος Ηρακλείου. Την ονομασία του την παίρνει από το χωριό Κουνάβοι στην κτηματική περιφέρεια του οποίου ανήκει.
Tris Ekklisies (i.e. three churches) is a secluded seaside village located 64km south of Heraklion, amid the wild and inhospitable landscape of Asterousia Mountains. The surrounding area, one of the most isolated in Crete, is difficult to access, but has some amazing beaches. To get to Treis Ekklisies you have to drive through a rough dirt road, about 10km long, from the village Paranymfi.
Amari valley is formed between the Mountains Kedros and Psiloritis, at an altitude of 400-500m and is 25km long. It is the natural passage from the north to south Rethymno and Messara Plain. For its central location, it was the theater of several historical events, especially during the Ottoman rule.
Το Μουνδριανό φαράγγι στην περιοχή της Αργυρούπολης οριοθετείται στα ανατολικά από το ύψωμα της Βίγλας (υψόμετρο 567μ) και στα δυτικά από το λόφο της Νησιανής, όπου υπάρχει ο έρημος οικισμός Νησί. Δυτικά της Νησιανής σχηματίζεται το δεύτερο φαράγγιτ ης περιοχής, το Βιλανδρέδο ή Κολλητά.
