Η Ζώμινθος ήταν μια μικρή πόλη των Μινωιτών στον Ψηλορείτη, με ιερή πηγή, που βρισκόταν κοντά στο Ιδαίον Άντρο. Εκτός όμως από τη θρησκευτική σημασία που είχε η πόλη για τους αρχαίους Μινωίτες, σήμερα στον αρχαιολογικό χώρο της Ζωμίνθου υπάρχει κι ένα δεύτερο αξιοθέατο. Αυτό είναι ένα ιδιαίτερο δέντρο το οποίο έχει χαρακτηριστεί ως διατηρητέο μνημείο της φύσης από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού.

The cave is located north- east of the village Nithavris at an altitude of 700m. at position Kalikas. Its dimensions are 100m x 40m and has a maximum height of 20 meters. Apart from its many names (Onymahos, Kallika Trypa, Notiki Tripa Nithavris, Paul Faure Cave), the impressive entrance with the inscription with the ancient name ONYMAXOC, it hosts beautiful stalactites and hides a rich history that testifies that it was inhabited since ancient times.
Saint Paul is a very old Byzantine church that was built at the place Selouda. The church is on the spot where Saint Paul reportedly baptized people on his way to Rome. It is a very picturesque small church, built on the beach using stones from the beach itself. This is why it is not easy to see the church from far.
Near the site of the current temple of Agia Ekaterini, above Loutro, traces of walls and buildings have been identified, belonging to the Ancient town of Anopolis, port of which was Katopoli or Phoenix, currently located in Loutro. Anopolis was an independent town and had its own currency.
The monastery of St. John Theologos (John the Apostle) in Anopolis is located relatively close to Heraklion. Although it has experienced the cruelty of the Turks during the Turkish occupation of Crete, the monastery still operates today. It is built in a beautiful valley at an altitude of 170m, southeast of Anopolis.
Το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο των Αρχανών λειτουργεί από το 1993 σε ένα όμορφο νεοκλασικό κτίριο που στέγασε το 1ο δημοτικό σχολείο των Αρχανών, στη συνοικία Τζαμί. Εδώ φυλάσσονται μινωικά πήλινα και λίθινα αγγεία που βρέθηκαν κατά τη διάρκεια ανασκαφών στο Φουρνί, στα Ανεμόσπηλια και στις Αρχάνες.
The lush canyon of Vederi starts from the village Fratzeskiana Metohia, passes next to the village Vederi and ends on the beach of Gerani (after 7km). The canyon has dense vegetation that makes trekking very difficult, as there is no footpath along its length.
