Ο δίκλιτος ναός του Αφέντη Χριστού και του Αγίου Χαραλάμπους βρίσκεται στη συνοικία της Κάτω Μεράς, στο λιμάνι της Ιεράπετρας και πολύ κοντά στο φρούριο Καλές. Είναι ο αρχαιότερος ναός της πόλης, ο οποίος έχει διαμορφωθεί στη σημερινή του μορφή ως αποτέλεσμα διαδοχικών επεμβάσεων.
Above the ruined village of Kolokasia in the province of Sfakia, on the southeast side of Asfendou gorge, stands the steep rock Kastri. As evidenced by traces of buildings and part of a fortification wall, Kastri probably was a town built during the Dark Period, just after the collapse of Minoan civilization in the 12th century BC.
At the cemetery of the village Pantanassa in province Amari, Rethymnon, we meet the impressive double aisled temple dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and the Holy Trinity. The temple was built in 1645 and its owner was Manolis Vlastos. The doors bear really interesting Gothic elements, while its interior preserves an arcosol (a type of tomb) dating back to 1594, probably belonging to a member of the Vlastos family.
The church of Panagia Koubelina is dedicated to the Assumption of Virgin Mary (Panagia) and is a very important Byzantine monument. It is the only surviving sample of cruciform domed church in East Crete.
The Cretan bellflower (Campanula Cretica) is one of the most beautiful wild flowers of Crete and at the same time is one of the most rare and endangered endemic plants on the island. Despite the fact Greece is home to 70 bellflower species, making Greece as the country with the largest variety, this is met only in a small geographical area of the White Mountains, mainly Samaria Gorge, and elsewhere in the world.
Βoufanis gorge is formed southeast of Selakano and finishes between the villages Chirstos and Metaxohori of Viannos Province. Hiking is usually done by the old path that connects Selakano with Metaxochori and it passes high and parallel to its bed.
The church of Panagia at Anisaraki settlement, by Kandanos is a single-aisled vaulted temple with two reinforcing strainers (narthexes). There is a Venetian gate in the western wall, while the original entrance was on the south wall (we still see the arch and an inscription of 1614). The church bears frescoes in good condition, dating back to 1390-1400.
Τεχνικό φαράγγι των Αστερουσίων με βόρειο προσανατολισμό στην περιοχή νοτιοδυτικά του χωριού Φουρνοφάραγγο που ξεκινάει από την τοποθεσία Καλόλαγκο. Αποτελεί ένα από τα πέντα παράλληλα τεχνικά φαράγγια της περιοχής (Παστρικός, Λιχνιστής, Καλάλαγκα, Δοξασμένος, Ριζόσκαλο). Το φαράγγι έχει 14 καταβάσεις με τη μεγαλύτερη κατάβαση να έχει ύψος 30 μέτρα.
