Malaxa village is the entrance to the region of Keramia by Chaniaa and is built on a very strategic point. In a rural area of Episkopi, province Pediada, by Heraklion we meet the forgotten and unknown to almost everyone St Phocas (Agios Fokas). Agios Fokas is a ruined church that nowadays has turned into a pile of stones. Only a part of the south wall is preserved today and will soon collapse.
About 1km west of Arvi we meet the stream of Bouboulis. If we cross the stream and walk about 5' minutes we reach the remote sandy beach of Meakis, also known as Vahoudianos Xerokambos. The beach is located in a secluded bay with fine sand and clear water, which is never busy.
